Galphil’s Public Domain stories are sometimes different from other books. Nevertheless here is a brief explanation of what this title is all about:

Outline of the story

“The Wizard of Oz” is about a girl named Dorothy who gets swept away by a tornado to a magical land called Oz. Along with her dog, Toto, she embarks on a journey to find the Wizard who can help her return home.

On her journey, she meets a Scarecrow who wants a brain, a Tin Man who desires a heart, and a Cowardly Lion who needs courage. They all seek the Wizard’s help to fulfill their wishes.

Moral Lesson

The story teaches about bravery, intelligence, and the importance of heart. Each character learns they already possess the qualities they seek, showing that we often underestimate our own abilities.

Moreover, “The Wizard of Oz” emphasizes the value of friendship and the idea that “there’s no place like home.” Dorothy’s journey leads her to appreciate her home and the people who care for her.

The Wizard of OZ: Background and History

“The Wizard of Oz” is a novel written by L. Frank Baum and published in 1900. It is considered one of the greatest stories in American literature.

The story has been adapted into various forms, including a highly successful film in 1939. The tale continues to captivate audiences with its timeless lessons and magical narrative.
